Sometimes a black screen of death might appear suddenly after power on the system, restart the system, or wake up the system from hibernate, etc. These symptoms are most commonly encountered after getting the latest Windows Update. If the black screen happens after signing into Windows 10 and only the mouse cursor can be seen, refer to the steps in the attached guide and see if the desktop can be restored back.
