Supersize your Notebook Storage!
« on: July 07, 2017, 04:38:12 PM »

Data storage has exponentially increased due to digital content such as Music, Videos, Photos and Workflow files and Optical Media has been around for around 30 years; Slowly the optical drive is moving into obsolescence due to proliferation of Flash Memory like SD Cards and Flash Drives and other magnetic storages such as external hard drives. Computer makers have recognized this trend; the optical drive is being left out of some modern computers such as low-profile Ultrabooks. This trend represents a small percentage of the notebook market however; the majority of notebooks sold still include an optical drive (usually a DVD burner).

  • Verify the Optical Disk Drive if it is SATA or PATA.
  • Optical Disk Drive height clearance (9.5MM or 12.7MM)
  • Correct Caddy Mount for the laptop
  • 2.5" SSD or 2.5" HDD to be used
  • Philips Screwdrivers
  • Laptop

- This DIY is meant to be a guide only; the steps are ambiguous to apply to the largest number of notebooks.
In other words, the steps listed here are not step-by-step for any notebook in particular.

- Follow this DIY at your own risk; We take zero responsibility for any damage caused.

- Warranty will be voided if you do this on your own if your laptop is in warranty.

Nice! Sana pwede gawin to kahit sa mga lumang notebook.
Baka siguro kelangan ko na talaga bumili ng bagong laptop.
Pero for sure MSI parin ang bibilhin ko. 8)
