How NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR Enhances Your Favorite PC Games 

High Dynamic Range, commonly called HDR, is an incredible new tech that improves on-screen imagery by leveraging three critical components: brightness, color, and contrast. NVIDIA is proud to be at the forefront of this revolutionary experience. With a wealth of manufacturing partners, other G-SYNC HDR displays will be available soon. Thanks to game developer support, there are also plenty of HDR-compatible titles to get your hands-on, and you'll have more and more to play in the future. It's pretty exciting that the MSI Alpha 15 is going to be the first laptop powered by the Radeon Navi RX 5500M in the Philippine market this year. But given that Radeon Navi is a fairly new architecture, and Ryzen mobile processors are still at an early stage, users might experience some things not to work right away out of the box.  I've had friends who purchased AMD Ryzen laptops from other brands experience weird graphics related issues and I came up with this guide comes to help with that.

During CES 2019, AMD announced that all current Ryzen mobile processors will directly receive driver packages staring at Q1 of 2019 and will enable AMD to give Day 0 driver support for the latest game titles and updates. Prior to this announcement, AMD relied on OEMs to have driver updates which cause a massive delay in fixing GPU related issues.

Now, with the availability of driver fixes coming from AMD directly, here are some optimization tips that you can do to ensure that you have the best performance with your MSI Alpha 15.

1.) Make sure your GPU is using the latest AMD drivers.

2.) Install AMD Chipset drivers.
AMD has made a fully intuitive AMD Chipset driver installer package which automatically installs everything. You can look for this installer by navigating to [Chipsets > Socket FP5 > AMD Ryzen and Athlon Mobile] in the AMD downloads page.

Installing the AMD Chipset drivers will enable you to have the AMD Ryzen Power Plan for your laptop which will enables your Ryzen mobile processor to respond more quickly to workloads, especially bursty workloads, which improves performance. You can choose the "AMD Ryzen Balanced" plan for optimization between performance and battery life, but you can also use the "AMD Ryzen High Performance" so you can ge the best CPU clocks and opt to use the discrete graphics more than the Vega 10.
 This will also optimize how the system dynamically switches between the Vega 10 graphics and the Radeon Navi RX 5500M discrete graphics depending on the workload requirements.  

So that's about it for now. These are pretty straightforward optimization provided by AMD. I will update this thread once there are more relevant optimizations are available.
